– 18 tripartite agreements signed between HPCL Refinery, Industries and Commerce Department and industries

Jaipur. In the dignified presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, 18 tripartite agreements (MoUs) were signed between HPCL Refinery, Industries and Commerce Department and industries to ensure supply of downstream products to industrial units in Rajasthan Petro Zone located in Balotra at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a historic gift to the country and the state by inaugurating the Pachpadra Refinery on 21st April. Rajasthan Refinery and Petrochemical Complex will not only become the center of fuel production, but it will also prove to be the pivot of petrochemical based industrial revolution in the state. He said that Rajasthan Petro Zone (RPZ) has been developed for setting up ancillary industries based on downstream products coming out of the refinery. With this, entrepreneurs will be able to get raw materials directly from the refinery, which will significantly reduce their costs. In this, products of plastic, pharma and automobile sectors will be manufactured.
45 industrial plots allotted, plug and play facility also developed
The Chief Minister said that work is being done rapidly towards providing maximum employment opportunities by establishing other industries related to the refinery. Rajasthan Petro Zone (RPZ) is being developed in 1022 hectares at Borawas-Kalawa near the refinery. About 30 hectares of land has been developed in the first phase. At the same time, out of 86 industrial plots, 45 plots have also been allotted. Additionally, 8 plug and play factory sheds have also been constructed so that investors can install their machinery and start work immediately.
He said that in the second phase of Rajasthan Petro Zone, 257 plots in 213 hectares will be available for allotment, for which A category environmental approval has been obtained. A total of 8 plots of 500 to 162000 square meters are also planned in this area. Out of this, approval has been given for the development work of basic facilities like roads, electricity, street lights and sign boards etc. on about 87 hectares at a cost of Rs 68 crore.
About 780 hectares more land allotted for expansion, industrial area will also be built in Jerla
Sharma said that the third phase of this zone will be spread over 780 hectares, out of which application has been made for obtaining Category A environmental clearance for 447 hectares. In this, about 780 hectares of land has been allotted in favor of RIICO in Ramnagar (Thobe), Sindhis Ki Dhani, Weatherlai, Borawas Extension and Khemababa Nagar. Here also the plot allotment process will be started after developing basic facilities. Along with this, industrial area will be developed in Jerla.
It is noteworthy that in addition to the main fuel, the refinery will produce huge quantity of downstream petrochemical products, which will serve as high quality raw material for the upcoming industrial units. Extensive supporting industries will be established in the region based on by-products like polypropylene, polyethylene (HDPE/LLDPE), benzene, toluene and butadiene. Processing of these raw materials will enable large scale production of various products for domestic and industrial use like plastic furniture, agricultural pipes, packaging films, automobile dashboards and bumpers, synthetic fibres, medical syringes and chemicals like paint-detergent. This eco-system will not only increase the utility of the refinery, but will also establish Rajasthan as a global manufacturing hub by manufacturing value-added products locally.
In the program, Industry and Commerce Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore said that development is happening rapidly in the state under the double engine government. Continuous expansion of industrial units has created extensive employment opportunities. Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and Additional Chief Secretary Industries Shikhar Agarwal detailed the features of Pachpadra Refinery.
On this occasion, HPCL Marketing Director Amit Garg and Petrochemical Head Saugata Chaudhary along with investors and concerned officials were present. Whereas, Minister of State for Industry and Commerce K. Of. Vishnoi, MLA Arun Chaudhary, senior officials of Jodhpur and Balotra district administration also joined through VC.
