New Delhi, 4 October (IANS). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Saturday that if three ‘A’ Awareness, Access and Action are met, the money lying in safe custody can be claimed properly by citizens with appropriate documents.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched the ‘Your Capital Your Rights’ campaign to facilitate the efficient and quick disposal of uncured assets in the financial sector in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. It is a three -month nationwide awareness campaign from October to December.
In his address in the program, the Finance Minister said that I urge you all to become an ambassador of this campaign, contact your acquaintances. Ask them if they have any paper of any uncured financial assets. If they get information about such papers from people, then guide others to register on the portal so that people can claim their property.
The Finance Minister insisted, “Countless citizens are expected to benefit from this initiative. I humble you to promote this campaign in your communities and surrounding areas.”
The Finance Minister thanked PM Modi and said that I am grateful to him that he once advised me to go among the people and call him to get his rights.
He said, “While implementing the advice of PM Modi, I am happy to say that Gujarat has played a leading role in starting this campaign.”
The Finance Minister said, “If the entire series is activated by the coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Finance, Regulators, State Governments and villages, everyone will be able to get their money back. It is not only our assurance, but also our duty.”
A post on the social media platform X by the Nirmala Sitharaman Office states that uncured financial assets are often uncured due to awareness and udence account details, including insurance policy claims, bank deposits, dividends, share and mutual funds.
During this campaign, citizens will be given immediate guidance regarding their uncured assets, update records, methods to complete the claim process. Also, digital tools and step-by-step performance will also be displayed.
