The BJP government in Bengal has made many big announcements in its first budget. ‘Bharosa Scheme’ was launched in the budget presented on Monday, under which the unemployed will be given a monthly allowance of ₹3,000. 20% increase in DA
In the budget speech, West Bengal Finance Minister Dasgupta said the government will increase dearness allowance (DA) by 20%, taking the total to 38%. Apart from this, retired journalists will get a monthly pension of ₹5,000. People jailed for political reasons will be given ₹10,000 per month.
Recruitment for one lakh posts with 33% reservation for women
In the budget speech, Bengal Finance Minister Dasgupta promised to fill one lakh government posts, of which 33% would be reserved for women. The government will fill 20,000 police posts and 50,000 teacher posts. The monthly salary of Civil Police, Home Guard and Green Police personnel will be increased by ₹2,000. Wherever applicable, 10 per cent of the vacancies will be reserved for ‘Agniveer’. Relaxation of five years in the upper age limit for recruitment to government posts has already been given, and this rule will remain in force for the next two years. In the budget speech, the Finance Minister said that the government has inherited a debt of ₹8.15 lakh crore. Its objective is to restore the glorious identity of the state and create a ‘Developed Bengal’ in line with the vision of ‘Developed India’.

₹3,600 crore has been allocated for the women-centric scheme ‘Annapurna Bhandar’. Additionally, ₹550 crore is being allocated for free bus service for women; The Finance Minister announced that ‘Pink Cards’ will soon be introduced for this. In view of the work of ASHA workers, Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta announced to increase the monthly honorarium of ASHA workers to ₹ 5,000.
