New Delhi, May 23 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute appointment letters to more than 51 thousand youth in various government departments and organizations in the 19th employment fair on Saturday.

These appointment letters will be distributed through video-conferencing. On this occasion, PM Modi will also address the gathering.

In line with the Prime Minister’s commitment to give priority to employment generation, ‘Rozgar Mela’ is a big initiative which aims to turn this vision into reality. Since its inception, approximately 12 lakh appointment letters have been issued through 18 job fairs organized across the country.

The 19th ‘Employment Fair’ will be organized at 47 places across the country. These youth selected from across the country will join different ministries and departments of the Government of India. These include Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Department of Higher Education and other departments.

During the 18th employment fair held in January, PM Modi had emphasized that connecting the youth with skills, providing them employment and self-employment opportunities has been the priority of the government.

Prime Minister Modi had said that the job fair was started to bring government recruitment into ‘mission mode’ and over the years it has become an institution. Through this initiative, lakhs of youth have received appointment letters in various government departments.

He had said that today India is one of the youngest countries in the world and the government is constantly trying to create new opportunities for the youth within the country and globally. He also mentioned that the government is signing trade and mobility agreements with many countries, which are opening up countless new opportunities for young Indians.

PM Modi had also said that in recent times, India has made unprecedented investment in modern infrastructure, due to which employment in construction related sectors has increased. He said that India’s startup ecosystem is growing rapidly, with about two lakh registered startups providing employment to more than 21 lakh youth.

He further said that ‘Digital India’ has ushered in a new economy, with India emerging as a global hub in animation, digital media and many other sectors.
