Guwahati, January 31 (IANS). All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) general secretary and MLA Rafiqul Islam on Saturday strongly criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s ‘Miya’ statement.
AIUDF’s Rafiqul Islam, while talking to news agency IANS, said, “Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been continuously abusing the Muslims by targeting the Amas community. He sometimes calls ‘Miya’ and sometimes ‘Videshi’. Sometimes he says that he enjoys inflicting pain. It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister of a state, who took oath on the Constitution to not discriminate against anyone and to treat everyone equally.
He said, “The Chief Minister always speaks harshly and criticizes the 35 percent Muslims of Assam by targeting them. It is unfortunate for Assam and us that Assam has got such a Chief Minister who is so communal that we don’t know how much poison is kept within him and keeps spewing it at various places on a daily basis. The Chief Minister should stop dividing Muslims and giving bullets to the entire community. He should stop spreading hatred. When he cannot love anyone, then less Don’t hate less.”
The AIUDF leader said, “At the same time, they are insulting the Muslims of the state by calling Praveen Togadia to Assam. The Chief Minister should ban Togadia from coming to Assam, but on the contrary, the Chief Minister himself calls him and keeps him with him. Togadia is a communal person, who has only sown poison in his mind and heart. Whenever he speaks, he spits out poison from his mouth. My appeal to the High Court is that he should Take the so-motive case against Togadia. Muslims have been insulted by calling him 50 lakh Bangladeshis. The Governor also asked the Chief Minister to stop spreading hatred and treat everyone equally.
He said, “Assam DGP should order the police to register an FIR against Praveen Togadia and he should be arrested. This is my appeal to the DGP sir. I also appeal to the Governor that he should not allow this kind of hate monger to enter the state. The path of his entry should be closed.”
