Patna, July 13 (IANS). Independent transgender candidate Priya Sinha filed her nomination on Monday for the by-election to be held on the famous Bankipur assembly seat of Bihar. During this, he targeted BJP, accusing it of lack of development in the area. He said that his purpose of contesting elections is not to do politics, but to become the voice of the people and take their problems to the Assembly.
In a special conversation with news agency IANS after nomination, Priya Sinha said that there is no ‘strong’ candidate in the election field. Those who have been in politics for years have not done any remarkable work in the interest of the society. When women are not safe, small children are getting addicted to drugs and houses of the poor are being destroyed, then it is meaningless to talk about the development of the society. Poor people are being snatched away from their homes and their houses are being demolished. If the public sends her to the Assembly, she will strongly raise all these issues in the House. His politics is not based on any religion, lineage or familyism. She wants to work for people of all sections and the public is paramount for her.
Referring to her political journey, Priya Sinha said that this is her first election. However, he said that struggle has been a part of his life since childhood. For years, she has been involved in people’s happiness and sorrow and has gone to every family and tried to understand their problems. She said that I have not come to do politics. I have come to become a member of every family. No one wants to do politics in their own home and I too will not do politics in the public house. My job will be to convey the problems of the people to the Assembly.
She said that she is confident that the public will support her and she will reach the assembly after winning the elections. After victory, his first priority will be women’s safety, better education, expansion of health services and increasing employment opportunities. On the issue of employment, he said that today a large number of youth are facing unemployment. In many families there is only one earning person, while the rest are not able to get employment. An effective policy will be made to connect the youth with self-employment, so that they can become self-reliant.
Priya Sinha also clarified that she has no personal fight with any political party. He said that my love is my people. In a democracy, the people are the master and I have come into the election field to serve the same people.
