Bengal Election 2026: Modi, Mithun and Hema Malini in the fray, BJP fields 40 star campaigners

Political activities have intensified regarding the assembly elections in West Bengal. Political parties have increased their preparations. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released a list of its veteran leaders and prominent faces to give momentum to its election campaign. BJP has released a list of 40 ‘star campaigners’ for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal. This list includes names ranging from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of various states, MPs and film personalities.

Amit Shah and others included in the list of star campaigners

The list of BJP’s star campaigners includes Nitin Naveen, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda, Dharmendra Pradhan, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Ashwini Vaishnav. Apart from this, Mithun Chakraborty, Smriti Irani, Hema Malini, Kangana Ranaut and Manoj Tiwari will also campaign in West Bengal. Besides, Leander Paes will also be seen campaigning in support of BJP.

Yogi Adityanath and Devendra Fadnavis will campaign

The party has also included Himanta Biswa Sarma, Yogi Adityanath, Rekha Gupta, Devendra Fadnavis, Mohan Charan Majhi, Bhupendra Yadav, Manik Saha, Anurag Thakur, Annapurna Devi, Arjun Munda and Babulal Marandi in its list of star campaigners. Prominent leaders like Samrat Chaudhary, Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Mangal Pandey, Amit Malviya, Samik Bhattacharya, Subhendu Adhikari, Dilip Ghosh, Dr. Sukant Majumdar, Shantanu Thakur, Raju Bisht, Dr. Jayant Kumar Roy, Manoj Tigga and Bijan Goswami are also included in this list.

BJP fielded candidates on 292 seats in the state

BJP has announced its candidates for 292 assembly seats in West Bengal. The party announced the names of 144 candidates in its first list, 111 in the second, 19 in the third, 13 in the fourth and five in the fifth list. It is worth noting that voting in West Bengal will be held in two phases. Voting will be held in the first phase on April 23 and in the second phase on April 29, while the election results will be declared on May 4. In view of this, political parties have put all their strength into the election campaign.
