Patna, November 15 (IANS). After victory in Bihar Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled three leaders including former Union Minister RK Singh from the party. This action was taken for anti-party activities.
Taking action against former Union Minister RK Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party has suspended him from the party for 6 years. The party has also taken action against Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal and MLC Ashok Agarwal.
BJP has said in the official order, “Your activities are in opposition to the party. This comes under the ambit of discipline. The party has taken it seriously. This has caused loss to the party. After all, as per the instructions, you are being suspended from the party and a cause inquiry is being conducted as to why you should not be expelled from the party. Therefore, you should clarify your position within a week of receiving the letter.”
This is BJP’s first action against rebel leaders after victory in Bihar assembly elections.
It is noteworthy that RK Singh showed rebellious attitude during Bihar Assembly elections. He stood up against BJP leaders on several occasions and alleged corruption. RK Singh had also openly supported the allegations of Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishor against the powerful leaders of NDA.
During the meeting in September, RK Singh had said in a statement, “I have also been the Home Secretary of Bihar. I have everyone’s account. If someone gossips, he will expose everyone. The people of Bihar will not tolerate corrupt people. Corrupt and characterless leaders are a burden on the earth.”
Former Union Minister RK Singh was also vocal against the Bihar government and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He especially advocated ending liquor prohibition in Bihar.
