Lalu Yadav RJD Ticket Distribution: The battle cry for Bihar assembly elections has been heard, and the political temperature is at its peak. On one hand, NDA has settled its seat sharing peacefully, on the other hand, the issue of seat sharing is still stuck in the opposition camp i.e. the Grand Alliance. But amidst this dilemma, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has once again surprised everyone. If sources are to be believed, even before the final agreement on seat sharing was reached, Lalu has started the process of distributing tickets to the candidates, which has created a stir within the alliance.
‘Ticket’ stampede at Lalu’s residence
Monday was considered very important for the Grand Alliance. The entire Lalu family including Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav were present in the capital Delhi. It was expected that the tangled threads of seat sharing would be resolved by the evening, but it did not happen. Despite this, as soon as the Lalu family reached their 10, Circular Road bungalow in Patna, the scene there was no less than an election festival.
By evening, a huge crowd of candidates and their supporters gathered outside Lalu-Rabri’s bungalow. The reason for this crowd was the news of getting tickets. Many candidates had already received calls from the party regarding tickets on Monday. After some time, one by one the candidates started coming out with smiling faces and party symbols in their hands. This scene made it clear that even though no official announcement has been made in the Grand Alliance, RJD has started laying its electoral chessboard.
Which veterans got Lalu’s blessings?
Now only 4 days are left for the first phase of nomination in Bihar, and in such a situation, this process of distributing tickets seems to be a ‘first come, first served’ strategy for RJD. According to the report, some big names are included among those who got RJD ticket. The most prominent name among these is that of Sunil Singh, who has been given ticket from Parbatta seat. It is noteworthy that Sunil Singh had left Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JDU and joined RJD only last week. Apart from this, RJD has also made Narendra Kumar Singh alias Bogo, who has won Matihani seat twice on JDU ticket, as its candidate. Sitting RJD MLAs like Bhai Virendra, Chandrashekhar Yadav and Israel Mansouri have also been given tickets, which is being considered as a reward for their loyalty.
Attempt to solve caste equation
In this phase of ticket distribution, RJD has also tried to solve caste equations with careful steps. Tejashwi Yadav is constantly trying to bring the Bhumihar community into his fold, and special attention has been paid to it in ticket distribution. This shows that the Lalu-Tejashwi duo is moving away from the traditional M-Y (Muslim-Yadav) equation and is working on a strategy to woo other sections of the society as well.
repeated previous experience
This is not the first time that Lalu Yadav has tried to distribute tickets before consensus within the alliance. Even during the Lok Sabha elections last year, there was no consensus on seat sharing in the grand alliance for a long time, and even then Lalu had given tickets to many candidates on his words, without deciding on the formula.
