Patna, October 27 (IANS). Now less than 10 days are left for the first phase of voting in Bihar Assembly elections. The election campaign is expected to gain further momentum after the end of Mahaparva Chhath on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is also going to campaign for the elections, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is once again going to visit Bihar on October 30.
It is being told that PM Narendra Modi will hold massive election meetings in Bihar from October 30 to November 7. According to a BJP leader, PM Modi will address election rallies in Muzaffarpur and Chapra on October 30. After this, he is scheduled to visit Bihar on November 2. He will first address election meetings at two places on this day and then hold a road show in Patna. BJP is seeing this as the most comprehensive election campaign of the Prime Minister.
BJP has intensified preparations for the road show. Bihar BJP’s election in-charge and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inspected the venue on Sunday.
Here, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will jointly address a public meeting with Bihar’s Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav in favor of the candidates supported by the Grand Alliance in Sakra and Darbhanga assembly constituencies of Muzaffarpur on October 29. Bihar Congress Media Department Chairman Rajesh Rathore said that this is the first visit of Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi to Bihar in this election and he will address the first public meeting in support of Sakra reserved assembly candidate Umesh Ram, after which he will address the meeting of RJD and Grand Alliance candidates in Darbhanga.
It is being told that Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi will also reach Bihar to campaign. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had stayed in Bihar for 16 days and traveled 1300 km. After this, their first public meeting in the assembly elections will be organized jointly for the candidates of the Grand Alliance.
The first phase of Bihar assembly elections will be held on 6 November and the second phase on 11 November. Whereas, counting of votes will take place on November 14. The main contest in this election is believed to be between NDA and Grand Alliance. However, AIMIM is also in the electoral fray under a different alliance. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj is also contesting on 243 seats.
