Bihar Elections: Attack on convoy of HAM candidate Jyoti Manjhi in Gayaji

Patna, November 5 (IANS). Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) candidate and sitting MLA Jyoti Manjhi from Barachatti assembly constituency of Bihar was attacked by unknown assailants.

According to the police, this incident happened when Jyoti Manjhi was touring the area with her supporters and doing door-to-door campaign.

He sustained injuries in the attack and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. The administration is keeping an eye on his condition.

As soon as the authorities received information about the incident, the police team reached the spot and started investigation. Security forces were deployed in the area to deal with any untoward situation. Officials said that strict action will be taken against the culprits.

The attackers have not been identified yet, but this incident has created a political uproar. BJP leaders strongly condemned the attack and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.

In a similar incident, there was a lot of uproar during the road show of Bhojpuri film star and singer Pawan Singh in Rohtas district on Wednesday.

In a road show, as soon as Pawan Singh’s convoy reached Tilothu, RJD supporters started raising slogans of ‘Pawan Singh Murdabad’.

Let us tell you that Pawan Singh was campaigning in support of Snehlata Kushwaha, wife of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) President Upendra Kushwaha. She is contesting from Sasaram assembly seat.

According to a local RLM leader, RJD workers carrying party flags suddenly started raising slogans against Pawan Singh, which created chaos there.

It is noteworthy that voting in Gaya and Rohtas will be held in the second phase on November 11.
