Patna, October 13 (IANS). NDA has decided the seat sharing formula for Bihar assembly elections. Under the formula, BJP and JDU will contest elections on 101-101 seats this time. At the same time, NDA allies have been given 41 seats.
Among the allies, LJP (Ram Vilas) has been given 29 seats, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) have been given 6 seats each. This time both BJP and JDU are contesting elections on equal number of seats.

If we look at the earlier seat distribution, in the assembly elections held in October 2005, JDU had contested on 139 seats and BJP on 102 seats. In this election, JDU got success on 88 seats, while BJP got success on 55 seats.
Similarly, in the 2010 assembly elections, JDU contested 141 seats and BJP 102 seats. In this election, JDU won 115 seats, while BJP got 91 seats.
BJP and JDU parted ways in the 2015 assembly elections. In this election, JDU was with the Grand Alliance and Nitish Kumar returned to power with the support of RJD and Congress. In this election, BJP had fielded candidates on 157 seats, but won only 53 seats. Apart from this, NDA allies had fielded their candidates on 86 seats, out of which they had won only 5 seats.
At the same time, in the 2020 assembly elections, JDU contested on 115 seats, BJP on 110 seats and other allies on 18 seats. In this election, BJP won 74 seats and JDU won 43 seats. Moreover, the allies had managed to win 8 seats.
However, in 2025, there is equal distribution of 101-101 seats between BJP and JDU. With this change it is clear that BJP is no longer a junior partner in Bihar politics. If political experts are to be believed, this equal formula will give the message of equal partnership between the two parties in the electoral field.
