As Bihar assembly elections approach, parties are opening their cards. Now Prashant Kishor led Jan Suraj Party has released its second list of candidates for 65 seats on Monday. However, Kishore’s name is missing from the list.
It is noteworthy that Prashant Kishor is expected to contest the elections from Raghopur seat against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
Addressing a press conference, Kishor said that with the release of this list, the party has so far declared the names of candidates for a total of 116 seats for the elections.
“In the first list, we announced candidates for 51 seats and in the second list, we announced the names of candidates for 65 seats. Candidates for the remaining seats will be announced later,” he said.
Kishore said that among the candidates declared so far, 31 are from extremely weaker sections, 21 from other backward classes and 21 are Muslims.
The party has fielded Kamlesh Paswan from Harnaut, long considered a stronghold of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, though he has not contested any assembly election there for three decades.
