Patna, 9 November (IANS). Campaigning for the second phase of Bihar assembly elections has stopped. Meanwhile, leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have claimed to form the NDA government. At the same time, BJP leader Smriti Irani has appealed to the voters to use their franchise for the second phase of voting.
While talking to the media, Smriti Irani appealed to the voters to discharge their democratic duties and said that I can make only one appeal with restraint in the code of conduct, it is the duty of every citizen to celebrate democracy. In the first phase you have created history and in the second phase also, reach the polling stations in large numbers, vote and fulfill your responsibility.
He said that this time the people are voting for development. Certainly NDA government will be formed.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that NDA will have a bumper victory in the results to be declared on November 14. After this, Lalu Yadav’s party RJD will completely disintegrate. His family has already broken up. Tejashwi’s brilliance has been destroyed by his own brother Tej Pratap, now neither Tej nor Pratap is left in him.
Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said that by raising the issue of SIR, Rahul Gandhi has ruined Tejashwi Yadav’s years of hard work. Voters of Bihar know that improving the voter list was a necessary process. The public has not forgotten Jungle Raj and has voted for development, public welfare and good governance.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan also reacted to the election atmosphere. He said that I am happy that the election campaign concluded with peace and dignity. All the leaders went among the public and expressed their views. The people of Bihar still have faith in the double engine government. We are going to form a strong government and this time NDA will also cross its strike rate of 2010.
Chirag Paswan said that Rahul Gandhi has forgotten the dignity of words. The disappointment and frustration of defeat is driving them beyond limits. His statement is going to prove costly not only for him but for the entire Grand Alliance.
