BJP government is sensitive towards public facilities and rights of citizens: Virendra Sachdeva

भाजपा सरकार जनसुविधा और नागरिकों के अधिकारों के प्रति संवेदनशील है: वीरेंद्र सचदेवा

New Delhi, January 30 (IANS). Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Friday welcomed the action taken by Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh to suspend three senior Delhi Jal Board officials for negligence in working time and unauthorized absence from office.

The Water Minister conducted the surprise inspection following complaints from the public about not being able to contact regional bill officers of Delhi Jal Board. The minister recommended suspension of three regional revenue officers for not attending their offices after the officers were found absent during inspection.

Sachdeva said the BJP government in Delhi is sensitive towards public amenities and citizens’ rights, and by recommending suspension of officers who do not report to office on time, the minister has given a strong message to the bureaucracy.

In this context, the Delhi BJP President condemned the statement of Delhi Aam Aadmi Party convenor Saurabh Bhardwaj and said that the service rules currently in force are the same as they were during the Arvind Kejriwal government.

He said that Kejriwal and his ministers wanted to keep the power of suspension in their hands so that they could intimidate officials and hide the corruption of their ministers, whereas the ministers of the present BJP government recommend suspension of officials neglecting public convenience or indulging in corruption to the competent authority and ensure that they are punished.

The Delhi BJP President said that be it Kejriwal or Saurabh Bhardwaj, they themselves are stuck in the quagmire of corruption, and in such a situation it is futile to expect action against corrupt officials from them.

He said that they only want action against those officials who are creating hindrances to their arbitrariness while following the rules.
