Bengaluru, July 14 (IANS). Senior BJP leader and former Karnataka minister S.V. Ramachandra Gowda died on Tuesday in a private hospital in Bengaluru. The senior leader was undergoing treatment for age-related health issues and breathed his last at 6.20 am at a private hospital in Chandra Layout. Gowda’s last rites will be performed at his private estate in Kamakshipalya, where family members, political leaders, supporters and well-wishers are expected to pay their last respects.
BJP leader BS Yediyurappa S.V. Condolences on the demise of Ramachandra Gowda. He wrote on Twitter, “I have lost another brother. I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of my companion for decades, senior leader and former minister Ramachandra Gowda. Those days of struggle – standing shoulder to shoulder during the Jana Sangh era, working hard day and night and building the party from the grassroots level in the state – are flashing before my eyes. As a colleague in my cabinet, I have seen his administrative acumen and dedication very closely.”
Yediyurappa further wrote, “His (SV Ramachandra Gowda) demise has left a deep void not only in the party and public life, but also within me personally. I pray that God rests his soul and gives his family members and fans the strength to bear this loss. Om Shanti.”
Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy wrote on Twitter, “I am deeply saddened to hear the demise of Ramachandra Gowda. He was a former minister and senior Karnataka BJP leader. Ramachandra Gowda was my close friend and was a member of my cabinet when I became the Chief Minister for the first time. He was affable and was an example of simplicity and gentlemanliness. I pray that Ramachandra Gowda’s soul rest in peace and may God give his family, loved ones and well-wishers the strength to bear this loss.” Give.”
Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar posted on Twitter, “Deeply saddened by the demise of senior leader and former minister Ramachandra Gowda. His contribution to the development of the state and public welfare is immeasurable. The service rendered by Ramachandra Gowda in the field of politics and society will always be remembered. The passing away of a simple and noble politician, Shri Ramachandra Gowda is an irreparable loss. I pray that God rest his soul in peace and his family, relatives And give fans the strength to bear this loss.”
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi wrote on Twitter, “The news of the demise of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, former minister and former Legislative Council member Ramachandra Gowda has brought deep shock and grief. He was an example of extreme simplicity and gentleness, had immense organizational ability and had immense love and affection for the party workers, due to which he was able to make a place in everyone’s hearts as a leader. His contribution to the organization of the party and public service will always be remembered. May his soul rest in eternal peace.” I pray that his family, relatives, friends and fans get the strength to bear this deep loss.”
