New Delhi, February 5 (IANS). Amid the ongoing controversy in Parliament over the book of former Army Chief General MM Naravane, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey has hit back at the Congress party and the Gandhi family. He shared a list of 40 books which he claims tell the ‘real history’ of India and highlight alleged controversies related to the party’s previous rule.
Nishikant Dubey released a list of 40 books on social media platform ‘X’. He said these books include historical accounts of India, the period of Emergency between 1975 and 1977, criticism of dynastic politics and other details. Referring to the books, he claimed that they highlight controversial aspects of Congress rule.
The BJP MP made 40 separate posts on the social media platform ‘X’, each of which included the title, author and summary of a book on his list. Nishikant Dubey argued that instead of discussing unverified material, Parliament should consider books that have already been published and are publicly available. According to Nishikant Dubey, these books throw light on the real history of the Nehru-Gandhi family and the Congress governments.
The development came as a heated debate took place in Parliament earlier this week. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of the India-China standoff of 2020. Rahul Gandhi cited a magazine article, which he said mentioned an ‘unpublished book’ by the former Army Chief.
He further claimed that the book also mentions Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. These claims were strongly opposed by the ruling party, with members demanding that Rahul Gandhi follow parliamentary rules and present only ‘authentic sources’ inside the House.
This controversy escalated further when Rahul Gandhi reached the Parliament complex on Wednesday carrying MM Naravane’s book and presented it in front of the media. Later Nishikant Dubey brought several books to the Lok Sabha and read some excerpts from them during the proceedings. The opposition objected and created ruckus when the BJP MP read out excerpts from the books in the House.
Nishikant Dubey said that the 40 books he mentioned are just a small part of the material available. He alleged that at least 150 such books have been published which expose ‘fraud, corruption and unethical relationships’ related to the Nehru-Gandhi family.
