New Delhi, March 5 (IANS). Aam Aadmi Party has challenged the national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to do live streaming of his appearance before the Privilege Committee. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Atishi challenged the BJP government and demanded live streaming of the entire proceedings of Arvind Kejriwal’s appearance on Friday. He said that if BJP does this then it will be exposed to the people of Delhi that apart from abusing Kejriwal, it is not concerned about public interest issues like electricity, water, roads, schools, hospitals.
Atishi said that the Delhi Assembly was renovated during the AAP government. During this time a secret room was found, in which ropes and glass bullets were found. Which was built by the British to quietly give the death penalty. But now the Rekha Gupta government is saying that the British did not hang Indian freedom fighters here, it seems that even today BJP is standing with the British government? Atishi said that the Privilege Committee of the Delhi Assembly has summoned former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on the issue of the hanging house. The committee has asked to tell whether there was a hanging house of the British in Delhi Assembly or not? But the question is, what is this hanging house and why is it being discussed? When Ramniwas Goyal became the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly, many closed rooms of the Assembly were opened and renovated. A back passage from the tunnel was found inside one of the rooms. Where ropes, glass bullets and some shoes and clothes were found.
Atishi said that when it was mixed with documents from the time of British India, it was revealed that there used to be a magistrate’s court in the present Delhi Assembly during the British Raj. After the decision in the Magistrate Court, the prisoners were kept here for some time. At the same time, after seeing the ropes and bullets, it was understood that this was one of the many other hidden secret hanging houses, which were built by the British to silently hang, shoot and eliminate Indian freedom fighters through extra judicial processes. Atishi said that then the Delhi Assembly decided that the hanging house would be opened for public viewing, so that people could see what the British did after all. When this hanging house was opened for the public to see, then CM Arvind Kejriwal, then Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Speaker Ramniwas Goyal and Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birlan had inaugurated it for the general public.
He said that now BJP is saying that there was no hanging house there. This is the same BJP which has emerged from the RSS, which respects Godse and which did not even hoist the tricolor flag at its headquarters for 52 years. Today the same BJP is saying that the British did not kill Indian freedom fighters secretly and there is no history of the Indian freedom struggle here. BJP is saying that there was a tiffin house at the place where ropes, bullets and old clothes and shoes of some people were lying. In such a situation, the question is whether a tiffin house will be selected and entry will be made through a tunnel? Why would it be hidden and suppressed? It seems that even today BJP is not standing with the Indians but with the British. BJP people say that it is written in the records of the British that it was a tiffin house. Does the BJP think that the British would have written in big letters that they were hiding there and killing freedom fighters illegally and extrajudicially? Today, on the basis of British documents, not calling it a hanging house has become such a big priority for BJP that it has left aside the problems of water, pollution, roads and private school fees. Today, the taxpayers’ money and elected representatives of Delhi are busy calling Arvind Kejriwal and asking him whether there was a hanging house for the British or not?
Atishi said that Arvind Kejriwal was the Chief Minister and he must have cut thousands of ribbons during his tenure. Will BJP now do that wherever Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated in 10 years, he will be called and questions will be asked from him? Is this why the people of Delhi have elected BJP? The people of Delhi have elected BJP to work. Today the condition of pollution is bad. The level of dangerous pollution that has happened in the last one year has not happened in the previous 5 years. Delhi Assembly is not calling anyone for this. Dirty water is coming into every house and an incident like Indore is waiting to happen in Delhi. BJP is not calling anyone for questions and answers on this.
Atishi further said that all the roads in Delhi are broken, but BJP is not summoning any engineer in the matter of roads to know what kind of roads they are building which were built in July and broken in September. Giving the example of Chirag Delhi flyover, he said that in July, BJP Minister Pravesh Verma had stood up and said that he was getting the road constructed. There were potholes and the road constructed in July was completely broken in September. Why is it not being investigated? Private schools have created a stir. If the increased fees are not paid, the admit cards for class 10th and 12th board exams are being withheld. BJP is not doing anything on this. The only work of BJP is to abuse Arvind Kejriwal every morning and evening.
Challenging the BJP government, Atishi said that if BJP has the courage, then when Arvind Kejriwal appears before the Privileges Committee of the Assembly on Friday, then it should show its proceedings by live streaming. This will expose all their secrets in front of the people of Delhi and everyone will know that BJP’s only job is to abuse Arvind Kejriwal. BJP is neither worried about electricity, nor about water, nor about roads, nor about medicines in hospitals, all they have to do is abuse Arvind Kejriwal. If BJP has courage then live stream the proceedings of the Privileges Committee on Friday, so that all Delhiites and countrymen can see the truth of BJP.
In a post on social media platform X, Atishi said that the people of Delhi are struggling with pollution, dirty water, broken roads, mountains of garbage and shortage of medicines in hospitals. But the BJP government is not concerned with the problems of the people. The BJP government has called Arvind Kejriwal in the Assembly to ask questions on the “hanging house”. We challenge BJP to telecast live the proceedings of this Privilege Committee in the same way as the proceedings of the Assembly are telecasted. The people of Delhi should also see how BJP, running away from their real issues and problems, is busy abusing Arvind Kejriwal.
