BJP will try with full force to steal votes in Bihar elections, it is the responsibility of the youth to stop it: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday again accused BJP of vote theft and said that BJP will try to steal votes with full force in Bihar Assembly elections and it is the responsibility of the youth of the state to stop it.

Addressing an election rally in Purnia, Gandhi claimed that the BJP was winning elections by stealing votes everywhere. He said, “We have shown the whole world that the BJP and the Election Commission have stolen the Haryana elections. I am sure they will try to steal votes in Bihar also. And, I believe the last election was also stolen in Bihar.”

The former Congress president said, “It is the responsibility of the youth of Bihar to stop this and save the Constitution. You all need to be alert at the polling stations.”

Rahul Gandhi had on Wednesday alleged that the Haryana Assembly elections were stolen last year. Citing voter list data, he had claimed that 25 lakh entries were fake and the Election Commission had colluded with the BJP to ensure its victory.

In his address at the Purnia rally, he claimed that after a special intensive revision of the voter list in Bihar, lakhs of names have been removed from the voter list, including those of the Grand Alliance.

He also hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks at election rallies in Bihar that “he gave cheap data so that youth can make (social media) reels and earn money.”

The leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha said that reels are a “21st century addiction” and big telecom companies make money by people consuming data.

Gandhi said, “What used to happen earlier with liquor and drugs is happening with reels today. How much money has come into the pockets of the youth by watching reels? The youth of Bihar want employment, not reels.”

He also alleged that the Prime Minister “wants a rule of billionaires where the youth remain unemployed”.

At another rally in Araria, Gandhi accused Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of imposing ‘jungle raj’ in the country.

He said, “Nitish Kumar talks about ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bihar. But, it is the Prime Minister and Amit Shah who have implemented ‘Jungle Raj’ in Delhi, in the entire country, where ED, CBI, IT, hatred and unemployment rule. This is the real ‘Jungle Raj’.”

Gandhi also alleged that the Prime Minister was spreading hatred among the people in Bihar and the country. “He is creating rift among people on the basis of caste and religion,” the Rae Bareli MP claimed.

Criticizing Kumar, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha accused the Chief Minister of turning the youth of the state into labourers. Gandhi claimed, “No work has been done for the poor, extremely backward, Dalits and minorities in Bihar. The government of Bihar is being run by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah from Delhi.”

He also alleged that land has been given to big corporates in the state at throwaway prices.

Gandhi said that when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government comes to power at the Centre, which is “not far away”, the world’s “best university” will be established in the state, where the future of Bihar’s youth will be shaped.

The Congress leader said, “Work will be done to bring food processing, packaging and cold chain industries to Bihar. We will connect the ‘tourist circuit’ so that the benefits of tourism reach the youth of the state. Nalanda once had the world’s largest university; we will ensure that its old glory is restored.”

He also said that India Block will turn the state into a manufacturing hub and ensure ‘Made-in-Bihar’ label on clothes and mobile phones.
