Cabinet expansion took place in Uttarakhand on Friday, in which five Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs took oath as ministers at a function held in Dehradun.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at Lok Bhawan in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Uttarakhand Governor Gurmeet Singh, who administered the oath of office to the five new ministers.
BJP MLA Khajan Das from Rajpur Road assembly constituency, Madan Kaushik from Haridwar, Pradeep Batra from Roorkee, Bharat Chaudhary from Rudraprayag and Ram Singh Kaira from Bhimtal assembly constituency took oath in the new cabinet today.
The expansion comes amid heightened expectations after five ministerial posts remain vacant in the Uttarakhand cabinet and the performance records of MLAs are being closely evaluated for possible inclusion in the cabinet.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Dhami and Uttarakhand BJP President Mahendra Bhatt had earlier indicated on several occasions that cabinet expansion was imminent.
