Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Saturday criticized the Central government, alleging that it effectively “repealed” MNREGA by passing the ‘Developed India – Ji Ram Ji’ bill without any discussion in Parliament, thereby depriving villagers of the right that guarantees their livelihood.
Addressing a press conference here, the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister said that this new law does not reform, simplify or strengthen the existing employment guarantee framework.
