New Delhi, December 2 (IANS). In India, the date of December 1, 2025 has been recorded in history, because on this day the names of the Raj Bhavans of all the states across the country have been changed. Now Raj Bhavan of different states will be known as Lok Bhavan.
On the orders of the Union Home Ministry, the name of Raj Bhavan has been changed to Lok Bhavan.
In this sequence, changing the names of Raj Bhavans by the Central Government is a clear message that power is not a means of gaining benefits, but a name of responsibility. The name change is not just a show, but there is a clear message and thinking hidden behind it. The message is that the job of the government is to serve the people, not to enjoy the pleasures of power.
In fact, during the 11-year tenure of the Modi government at the Centre, there have been examples of changing the names of many places and routes.
Before this, the name of Rajpath was changed to Duty Path. Rajpath used to convey the path of kings or the message of power, while later it was linked to duty, which clearly means that power is not a right, but an opportunity and responsibility to serve.
As another example, Race Course Road can also be taken, which was changed to Lok Kalyan Marg in 2016. Public welfare gives a clear message to the common people that this is the path of public welfare and not a symbol of any prestige.
Apart from this, the Central Government named the new complex containing the Prime Minister’s Office i.e. PMO as Seva Teerth. The message of Seva Teerth is, “The Sacred Place of Service.” The name is enough to tell that this place has been dedicated as a center of spirit of service.
