The Railway Minister has also given consent to operate the Dehradun-Tanakpur weekly train three times a week.

He further said that an appropriate decision will be taken by the Central Government regarding the full cost of the work of doubling the Haridwar-Dehradun railway line. Along with considering the possibility of connecting Almora and Someshwar areas in the Tanakpur-Bageshwar rail project, a request has been made to the Union Railway Minister to make provision for a road along the tunnel, on which the Railway Minister said that it will be considered.

The Chief Minister said that while completely closing the old railway station of Rishikesh, he also requested the Union Railway Minister to transfer all the rights of this land to the state government.

Chief Minister Dhami told the Union Railway Minister that due to the closure of the old railway station, if additional land is required for the systematic operation of Yog Nagari Railway Station, then the state government will give positive consideration and cooperation on it. The Railway Minister gave his in-principle consent to this.

The Union Railway Minister has assured all possible cooperation on all the proposals. For this I express my heartfelt gratitude to him.
