Mumbai, January 31 (IANS). Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar on Saturday said she has taken up the responsibility of public service with great responsibility and is fully committed to carrying forward the people-centric legacy of Ajit Dada for the welfare of Maharashtra.
Recalling Ajit Dada’s lifelong work for farmers, labourers, women, youth and marginalized sections, she said that she will take inspiration from his thoughts and will maintain her loyalty to the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Shahu Maharaj, Mahatma Phule and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the untimely demise of Ajit Dada is a matter of personal grief and has created an atmosphere of mourning in the entire state. He also said that his discipline, perseverance in the face of adversity and his unwavering commitment to the public will always guide his public life.
Sunetra Pawar also said that she will work to build Ajit Dada’s dream of a just, inclusive and prosperous Maharashtra by implementing the principle of honesty, transparency and ‘people first’.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the love, faith and support of the people of Maharashtra has been his greatest source of strength in these difficult times. She said that now she will move ahead with new enthusiasm and energy and keep Ajit Dada’s ideals alive. His primary goal will be effective implementation of government schemes for the welfare of farmers, expanding opportunities for youth, empowering women and improving the standard of living of common citizens.
Sunetra Pawar said the state government will work to empower Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Developed India 2047’ and remain committed to the overall development of Maharashtra under the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He also said that he is committed to carrying forward the legacy of Yashwantrao Chavan, who is considered the creator of modern Maharashtra.
Pawar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and in coordination with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, she will make continuous efforts for the state’s overall development, social justice, economic growth and inclusive prosperity. He also said that it will be his determination to fulfill the expectations of the people, make governance more sensitive and people-centric and take Maharashtra to new heights of development.
Expressing gratitude to the people of Maharashtra and her colleagues, Pawar said that she will work to the best of her ability to maintain the trust reposed in her by her National Congress Party colleagues.
