The CPI (Male) Liberation, who is involved in the Grand Alliance in Bihar, has hoped that the Congress will adopt a ‘more realistic’ view in the ongoing seat-sharing conversation for the upcoming assembly elections, and will learn from its performance in the 2020 elections.
Left party general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya stressed that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the biggest ally of the opposition coalition, should be ‘more generous’ towards small allies as the ‘India’ (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) alliance is likely to expand with the possible entry of new parties in Bihar.
Bhattacharya said that his party is expecting to contest at least 40 out of 243 seats, while in the last election he contested 19 seats.
At the same time, he also clarified that if the grand alliance comes to power, there is no ‘ambiguity’ to make RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav the face of the Chief Minister.
Bhattacharya said in an interview to ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “The conversation is going on … the movement on SIR and the time and energy we had to put in this disruption, due to the things we had to be averted. But I hope that by the end of this month we will find a clear picture. ”
After the recently concluded ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, on the demand of more seats of Congress, Bhattacharya clearly said, “I have seen reports of some Congress leaders seeking about 70 seats. But last time he contested 70 seats and won only 19 seats.
He said, “In 2015, the Congress contested 40 seats and won 27 seats. There was a very good strike rate. But in 2020, when he contested 70 seats, he was carrying more burden than his capacity. So I think there should be a balance somewhere. ”
Bhattacharya said, “The last time the CPI (Male) Liberation was less represented and this time we want proper representation. There are also new allies, which means that RJD and Congress will have to contest elections in less seats than in 2020. They have to be more generous. ”
Currently, the Grand Alliance consists of six parties – RJD, Congress, CPI (Male) Liberation, CPI, CPI and Mukesh Sahni’s Developing Human Party (VIP), which is a new party. The Lok Janshakti Party (Paras faction) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) are also expected to join it before the elections to be held later this year.
When asked about the possibility of faces for the post of Deputy Chief Minister after the demands of some allies, Bhattacharya said, “These things can be waited till the picture is clear after the election.”
He hoped to get more seats for his party this time, saying, “Last time, we had contested only 19 seats, but won 12. We contested only 12 out of 38 districts of Bihar. So we hope that we will contest elections in more districts and more seats. ”
Bhattacharya said, “We have already submitted a list of about 40 seats. speaking terms. We want to contest elections from both south and north Bihar. Because wherever we fought the election, if you look at those districts, you will find that we have managed to improve the performance of the entire alliance.
He said, “The last time the ‘India’ alliance gave a good competition, but missed the target. So we hope that this time we will get a decisive mandate because if the majority is low, it will be very difficult. ”
