Ranchi, July 25 (IANS). Senior Jharkhand BJP leader Amar Kumar Bauri attacked the state government over ending Sonam Wangchuk’s fast, Congress leader Imran Masood’s remarks and investigation into Jharkhand’s alleged JPSC scam. He said that the tradition of getting our demands met in a democratic manner should be respected and Sonam Wangchuk ending her fast after positive initiatives were taken by the government is an example of the same.
On the reaction of Congress leader Imran Masood after Sonam Wangchuk’s announcement of ending the fast, Amar Kumar Bauri said that the mentality of Congress and its leaders is to take political benefits instead of national interest. He said that Imran Masood and other Congress leaders have the hope that anarchy will spread in the country. They want to create such an environment that people forget other issues. But, after receiving positive initiative from the government and assurance on the demands, Sonam Wangchuk has ended her fast respecting the democratic tradition. In a democracy, a solution can be found only by expressing one’s views peacefully and not through violence or pressure. He alleged that Imran Masood’s statement reflects his frustration and restlessness.
Responding to the two demands put forward by Sonam Wangchuk along with ending the fast, the BJP leader said that the central government has taken positive steps on the major demands which could have been met immediately and has also given necessary assurances. Prime Minister Modi himself has made it clear that to ensure that there are no irregularities in any examination in future, the already existing laws will be made more effective and stronger. Also, strict action will be ensured against those who rig the exams so that the future of the students can be secured.
On the investigation into the alleged scam related to Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Amar Kumar Bauri made serious allegations against the state government and said that the current investigation is only an eyewash. He said that this investigation itself is a scam. Investigating agencies are being used to save all the big scams that have taken place in the state, in which the government has been directly involved, and to give a clean chit.
Bauri alleged that BJP has been continuously raising the issue of irregularities in many examinations including JPSC, JSSC. Even within the Assembly, BJP had raised its voice on these matters throughout the night and had already pointed out the irregularities in the conduct of examinations and recruitment process by blacklisted companies. The state government played with the future of the students for financial gain. Now when the heat of the matter is reaching the top levels of power, efforts are being made to whitewash the entire episode by making some people scapegoats.
He said that unless the entire matter is investigated by the CBI, the real people responsible for this alleged scam will not be known. BJP has been continuously demanding a CBI inquiry to impartially investigate all recruitment exam scams. Only after investigation by an independent agency will the truth of the entire matter come out and effective action against the culprits will be possible.
