Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh took a sarcasm on Tuesday by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Supreme Court to give a clean chit to the Vanatara Zoological Center, saying that I wish all the cases would have been settled so fast without the arrangement of ‘sealed cover’.
The SIT, constituted by the Supreme Court investigating cases related to Vantara, has given a ‘clean chit’ to this zoological rescue and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
A bench of Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice PB Varle recorded the report and said that the authorities have expressed satisfaction over the issue of compliance and regulatory measures in Vantara.
Former Environment Minister Ramesh posted on ‘X’, ‘When he decides, the Indian judicial system runs at the fastest pace, while the delay has become its identity.’
He mentioned this, ‘On August 25, 2025, the Supreme Court ordered a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate cases of Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, Vanatara established by Reliance Foundation in Jamnagar. The SIT with four prestigious members was directed to submit its report by September 12, 2025. He said, ‘SIT submitted its report in’ sealed cover ‘, on September 15, 2025, the Supreme Court accepted its recommendations and closed the case launched by a PIL filed on 7 August 2025.’
Ramesh took a sarcasm that I wish, all matters would be dealt with so fast and clearly without a mysterious ‘sealed cover’ system.
