A political controversy has arisen over a statement by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Notably, during an election rally in Assam, Kharge compared the RSS and the BJP to snakes—a comparison to which the BJP has strongly objected. After this statement, BJP leader Ranjeev Kumar Sharma filed a complaint against Congress President Kharge. This complaint was lodged at the police station located near the state headquarters of BJP. Bharatiya Janata Party claims that this statement given from the election platform is objectionable and harmful for the political environment. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case, and further action is underway.
Giriraj Singh targeted Kharge
Political tension has increased considerably over the controversial statement of Congress National President Kharge about BJP and RSS. Meanwhile, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that as long as BJP and RSS exist in the country, there is no room for terrorists within its borders. Speaking to IANS, Giriraj Singh remarked that the Congress national president has “looted the country a lot” during his tenure, yet today he is making such statements. He argued that Kharge’s statement reflected his frustration and was an attempt to mislead the people of the country. He further alleged, “They sit and sit with those who offer *Namaz* (Islamic prayers); that is why they make such controversial statements.”
The statement that created controversy
During an election rally, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge described the RSS and the Bharatiya Janata Party as “poisonous snakes” and appealed to the public to “crush” them. Speaking at the rally, Kharge said, “It is clearly written in the *Quran Sharif* that if a poisonous snake comes in front of you—even if you are offering *Namaz* at that time—you should stop your Namaz and first kill that snake. Today, RSS and BJP are exactly the same snakes. If you do not kill them, you will not be able to survive.”
Mamta Banerjee also targeted
Also, targeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Union Minister Giriraj Singh alleged that she is spreading misinformation in an attempt to win the elections. They also realize that the state government has failed to complete any work and now the public is not with them; This is precisely why Mamata Banerjee is spreading confusion about SIR. In the times to come, the public is ready to hold them accountable. He said that the situation in West Bengal has worsened considerably; People’s complaints are being ignored, while outsiders are being allowed to enter the state. People initially thought that these outsiders would help them win the elections, but they failed to understand that this strategy would yield no results as SIR had actually taken away their right to vote.
