New Delhi, July 14 (IANS). Aam Aadmi Party leader Anurag Dhanda expressed his frank opinion on many issues including E20 petrol, NEET paper leak, Ram Mandir donation theft case, Wayanad landslide. Making a verbal attack on the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he alleged that Prime Minister Modi’s continuous silence on many important issues is increasing the anxiety among the public. Referring to Arvind Kejriwal’s letter against E20 petrol and the portal launched, the AAP leader said that crores of people are worried about their vehicles, mileage and rising expenses, but the government is not listening to their voices.
Describing E20 petrol as a serious issue related to crores of people, Anurag Dhanda said that common people are worried about their vehicles getting damaged, mileage getting reduced and how will they bear the burden of increasing expenses. Regarding these concerns, AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Prime Minister Modi and has started an online portal. Through this portal, any citizen of the country can convey his views to the Prime Minister by signing an online petition from his mobile phone.
He said that crores of people are worried about E20 petrol, but Prime Minister Modi is not saying anything on this subject. Prime Minister Modi neither spoke on the NEET paper leak issue, nor gave any reaction on the alleged scam in the Ram Mandir donation case, nor did he give any clear answer to the apprehensions of the people related to E20 petrol. From this it seems that either the government does not want to communicate with the public or the situation has gone out of the government’s control.
On the landslide in Wayanad, Anurag Dhanda called it a very sad and unfortunate incident. He said that at the time of such a tragedy, public representatives should go among the affected people. In this context, he targeted the Central Government and said that more than 20 students were claimed to have died due to incidents related to NEET paper leak, but Prime Minister Modi did not even issue a condolence message on this. Even in the case of alleged theft in Ram temple, Prime Minister Modi neither addressed the devotees nor gave any public reaction in the matter. This shows the growing disconnect between the public and the government and in a democracy the final decision is taken by the public.
Questioning the impartiality of the Election Commission, Anurag Dhanda alleged that the Election Commission is now working like an extended wing of the BJP. Democratic institutions are being misused and attempts are being made to sabotage the MPs and MLAs of the opposition parties. Ram Mandir donations case, alleged cases related to government funds and paper leaks are being used for political purposes. If the Election Commission remains a mute spectator in such circumstances and does not play an impartial role in processes like SIR, then it is natural to question its independence.
When applications were invited for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Ram Mandir Trust, Anurag Dhanda said that mere creation of new posts or appointment of new officers will not restore the confidence of the people. Unless there is a fair investigation into the alleged irregularities and allegations of donation theft and action is not taken against the culprits, doubts will remain in the minds of the people. The entire issue related to Ram Temple should be investigated impartially and without fixing accountability at the top level, it will be difficult to regain public trust.
