Bhubaneswar, 25 September (IANS). The state level birth anniversary celebrations of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay were held on Thursday at Jaidev Bhavan under the aegis of Information and Public Relations Department.
Odisha’s Law, Construction and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, who was present as the chief guest, said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay was a personality who dedicated his life to nationalism with unwavering resolve. Deendayal Upadhyay, as the pioneer of Integral Humanism, envisaged harmonious development by considering individuals, society and nature as one. He emphasized on the path contained in indigenous and Indian values, not in capitalism or communism.
Prithviraj Harichandan said that Deendayal Upadhyay’s philosophy focused on the fulfillment of the basic needs of the last person of the society to ensure the overall welfare of the nation. His idea of Swadeshi was based on Indian culture, village and agricultural development.
Harichandan further said, “He believed that if the resources of the nation, labor and intellect are used on the path of indigenous, then India will become self -sufficient. Today the same ideas have led the country towards self -reliance and overall development.”
He further said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay dedicated his entire life to the nation and presented Integral Humanism as a guide philosophy. His attitude of indigenous, self -reliance and upliftment of the last person keeps India inspired to lead India on the path of overall development.
At the same time, MLA Babu Singh said that the Integral Humanism of Deendayal Upadhyay is an Indian philosophy, which sees man, society and nature with an integrated point of view and considers Antyodaya (the uplift of the last person) as his basic principle.
He said, “Those who are deprived of food, clothes, education, healthcare and shelter should be given priority.”
Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department, in his welcome address, described Deendayal Upadhyay as a sharp and fundamental thinker.
He said that Deendayal Upadhyay’s vision of Integral Humanism matches the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi.
