New Delhi, January 1 (IANS). The inaugural ceremony of the three-day Indian literary and cultural festival “Delhi Shabdootsav 2026” will be held at the National Stadium on Friday, in which Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will also be present. A Delhi government official gave this information.
Earlier, after the poster launch of the event on December 29, CM Gupta was briefed by Art and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra about the schedule of the event and other related campaign activities.

The Delhi CM further wrote, “From January 2 to 4, well-known thinkers, writers and speakers from across the country will participate in the ‘Delhi Shabdonotsav’ organized by the Delhi Government and Suruchi Prakashan at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium. During the event, there will also be book releases, cultural presentations and a poetry conference.”
Chief Minister’s cabinet colleague Ashish Sood, MLAs Abhay Verma and Rajkumar Bhatia, as well as others were present on the occasion.
Mishra told reporters that the Delhi government’s art and culture department and a publishing house will jointly organize the country’s biggest literary and cultural festival.
Kapil Mishra said, “The Delhi government is organizing the country’s biggest cultural and literary festival on January 2, 3 and 4. From now on, it will be organized annually under the Culture Ministry and will be known as ‘Delhi Shabdootsav’.”
The event will feature over 100 eminent speakers, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Sunil Ambekar, Manmohan Vaidya and Sachchidanand Joshi, along with the launch of over 40 books, six cultural performances and two poetry conferences.
“Students from about 40 universities of Delhi NCR will also participate in this cultural programme,” he said.
Mishra said that in this event there will be programs like Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Bhajan Sandhya, Kavi Sammelan and Somnath Jyotirling Darshan.
He said that Delhi Chief Minister will inaugurate the festival, while Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Chhattisgarh Home Minister Vijay Sharma will also attend the event.
