New Delhi, July 12 (IANS). Senior Congress leader and former MP Dr. Udit Raj has expressed concern over the ongoing factionalism within the party. He said that Congress could not get power in many states because the leaders spent more energy in mutual conflicts instead of strengthening the organization.
In a special conversation with IANS, Dr. Udit Raj said that we kept on winning in Uttarakhand. The government was in front of us like a decorated plate, but due to mutual factionalism we lost. Exactly the same situation prevailed in Punjab in the last elections. Our government was being formed there, but some people including the state president were the first to start barricading. Due to this factionalism, not only the party is being harmed, but the entire country is also being harmed. We are failing to form governments, are continuously losing and the organization is being adversely affected.
He said that right now in Punjab it is very important that all the leaders work with teamwork, because there are serious problems there, the people are groaning. In such a situation, if we continue with factionalism, no one will get anything. Only when something is received will it be distributed, only then will we be profitable and will become ministers and chief ministers. Therefore, it is time to leave factionalism and work unitedly.
Earlier, Udit Raj said in a post on the social media platform We became victims of factionalism. It was as if the party president had taken a bet to oppose every decision of his own government and the result was that we lost.”
He further said in the post that if we keep in mind the struggle to save the Constitution and the sacrifice and dedication of Rahul Gandhi ji, then we will have to avoid factionalism. If there is any problem or difference of opinion in the organization, it should be raised on the appropriate platform of the party.
