FIR on Santa Claus video: Virendra Sachdeva criticizes petty politics of Aam Aadmi Party

सांता क्लॉज वीडियो पर एफआईआर: वीरेंद्र सचदेवा ने आम आदमी पार्टी की ओछी राजनीति की आलोचना की

New Delhi, December 25 (IANS). Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Thursday said that the filing of FIR against Aam Aadmi Party leaders Saurabh Bhardwaj, Sanjeev Jha and Adil Ahmed Khan for hurting the sentiments of Christians has exposed their insensitive and petty politics.

He said that after being ousted from power by the people of Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party leaders are adopting cheap tactics to remain in the news.

He said that the three common man leaders against whom FIR has been lodged have committed an indecent act by making fun of religious faith, which is not acceptable in any religion.

Delhi BJP President said that making fun of any religion is wrong in any case.

The Delhi BJP President said that the common man leaders did this humiliating act at a time when the minority community was celebrating its festival.

Accused of making fun of the minority community, Sachdeva said that being in the opposition gives one the right to protest on any issue, but there is a constitutional and sensitive way to do so.

The BJP leader’s statement against common man leaders comes just after an FIR was registered against him for hurting the religious sentiments of the Christian community by portraying Santa Claus inappropriately in a political video related to the city’s air quality.

Let us tell you that Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party leaders Saurabh Bhardwaj, Sanjeev Jha and Adil Ahmed Khan. This FIR has been registered on charges of hurting religious sentiments.

According to the complaint, on December 17 and 18, these leaders posted a video from their official social media accounts. This video is related to a political skit done in Connaught Place.

The video depicts Santa Claus, a sacred and respected religio-cultural symbol for the Christian community, in a humorous and outrageous manner.

The video showed Santa Claus falling unconscious on the road and was used as a prop to send a political message.

Not only this, Santa Claus was made fun of while performing fake CPR in the video, which hurt the sanctity of St. Nicholas and the Christmas festival.

The complaint states that all this was done deliberately and maliciously, to hurt the religious sentiments of the Christian community.

Such political use of a religious symbol in the final days of Advent is considered an insult to Christianity.
