Thiruvananthapuram, January 23 (IANS). On Friday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan gave a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister has arrived in Thiruvananthapuram to inaugurate and launch several major development schemes. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this is a moment of great happiness and satisfaction for Kerala.
CM Vijayan said that the Prime Minister’s visit to Kerala to inaugurate and inaugurate several projects will be very helpful in accelerating the development of the state.
Along with this, the Chief Minister also greeted the dignitaries present on the stage, including Governor Rajendra V. Arlekar, Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V.V. Rajesh, Union Minister of State George Kurien, Local Self Government Minister M.B. Rajesh, MP Shashi Tharoor, former Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar, senior officials and beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.
He briefed in detail on the laying of the foundation stone for the CSIR-NIIST Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Hub, the inauguration of the new Poojappura Head Post Office building and the launch of the PM Swanidhi scheme to benefit one lakh street vendors.
The Chief Minister said that in this program, credit cards and loan checks were also handed over to the beneficiaries under the scheme.
The Chief Minister further mentioned Prime Minister Modi flagging off three Amrit Bharat Express trains and one passenger train, and described the new rail services as “very important” for Kerala in terms of connectivity and economic activity.
CM Vijayan said, “This is a precious moment of satisfaction for the state government, because we had been continuously seeking the green signal from the central government for many of these projects.” He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for approving these projects.
He hoped that the Centre’s “concern and goodwill” towards Kerala would continue in the future, and the state’s genuine demands in other sectors would also be addressed with time.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the Prime Minister will ensure timely completion of these projects.
At the end of his speech, CM Pinarayi Vijayan once again welcomed Prime Minister Modi on behalf of the state and himself.
