गुजरात: जीएसआरटीसी ने बदले प्रीमियम एसी बसों के रूट, एक्सप्रेसवे से सफर होगा तेज और सस्ता

Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, May 18 (IANS). Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) on Monday announced changes in the operating routes of several premium AC bus services. Its objective is to make travel easier and reduce the expenses of passengers. These changes have been made on the instructions of the Deputy Chief Minister.

Under the new arrangement, all premium AC buses plying between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar will now pass through the newly built Ahmedabad-Dholera Express Highway.

According to the corporation, this change in route is expected to reduce travel time and operational expenses. Some part of these benefits has been passed on to the passengers by reducing fares.

Under the new schedule, a total of 24 buses running every hour between 5 am and 6 pm will now use the expressway from both Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar sides.

Services running on Gandhinagar-Diu and Gandhinagar-Mahuva routes have also been included in this corridor. With the change in route, the Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar fare has been reduced to Rs 336. This will save passengers about Rs 15 on every journey.

In another important development, GSRTC has also introduced a new Volvo service on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. This service has been launched as a non-stop premium service between Nehrunagar (Ahmedabad) and Surat. The bus will leave from Nehrunagar at 6:45 am, while the return bus from Surat will leave at 1:00 pm.

The fare for this new route has been fixed at Rs 687. Compared to the previous services, this is expected to save passengers approximately Rs 61.

The corporation said that the purpose of starting these services on the expressway network is to utilize the country’s superior infrastructure to improve connectivity between important cities of Gujarat and reduce travel time.

All tickets for these services are available through online advance booking on the official website of GSRTC and GSRTC mobile app.

The corporation has appealed to the passengers to use these digital platforms for booking and avail these new premium services.
