New Delhi, December 28 (IANS). Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has responded to his ex-post, regarding which the discussion has intensified in political circles. He said that whatever I had to say, I have said and please understand one thing, I have been in the Congress party for 50 years and I have fought these communal forces everywhere, be it Assembly, Parliament or organization. I have been fighting these ideologies for so many years, and will continue to fight in the future also.
Digvijay Singh said that absolutely right, we do not need to learn anything from an organization like Sangh.
On the other hand, statements of Congress leaders regarding Digvijay Singh’s post also came to light. Congress leader Supriya Shrinet said that I think if BJP distorts any of his tweets or statements, and you all do the same, then what difference will there be? We have nothing to learn from such a hate organization.
Congress leader Naseer Hussain said that Digvijay Singh himself will answer. Whatever we had to talk about, we discussed it in detail in the Congress Working Committee meeting. How to take the movement on MNREGA forward, how to reach out to people, how to organize workers, and how to strengthen worker networks in rural areas. We discussed all these matters.
Congress leader TS Singh Deo said that if there is something in an organization that can be adopted for better and more effective work, then what is wrong in seeing it? This is not about the union. As far as I know, Digvijay Singh has clearly said that he completely rejects the ideology of the Sangh and does not agree with it. There is no point in taking his statement as support for the Sangh.
He said that Digvijay Singh mentioned a picture and said that in it PM Modi is seen sitting on the ground in front of Advani and he commented on it. Today, we are here on the occasion of Foundation Day. I am looking at Mallikarjun Kharge, President of All India Congress Committee. Where does his family come from? If a young man from a labor family, whose house was once burnt and destroyed, a citizen of this country who belongs to the Scheduled Caste community, gets a chance to rise from there and become the President of All India Congress Committee, then Digvijay Singh is also saying that this kind of journey should happen.
Congress leader Rajni Patil said that according to what we heard inside, Digvijay Singh’s statement was not wrong, whatever he said publicly, he must have told you and he did not say anything wrong.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that I also want our organization to become strong and sustainable from within. But, Digvijay Singh himself can also say this, you can ask him directly.
Congress leader Pawan Kheda said that I did not hear who said what. The process of development of the organization is going on throughout the year. You can see its results in every state. Different departments are working for the development of the organization. If anyone sees the life of National President Mallikarjun Kharge, he will understand what is possible in this party.
Congress leader Manickam Tagore said that Sangh is an organization which spreads hatred. It creates hatred and propagates hatred. There is nothing like learning from the Sangh.
