Patna, June 4 (IANS). Janata Dal United (JDU) chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar targeted the opposition while reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi becoming the country’s longest continuously elected Prime Minister. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to be the longest serving elected Prime Minister in independent India, which shows the strength of Indian democracy.
In a special conversation with news agency IANS, Neeraj Kumar said that at a time when some people are accusing him of stifling democracy, the opposition should remember that the Prime Minister is democratically elected and not nominated. While giving advice to the opposition, he said that if someone works honestly and remains dedicated towards the public, then he too can get the opportunity to serve for a long time. He sarcastically said, “If you live in jealousy and hatred, you will become a victim of high blood pressure in politics.”
Neeraj Kumar expressed deep grief over the deaths due to fire in a private hospital in Muzaffarpur. He said that around 3 am in the morning, a fire allegedly broke out in the ICU of the hospital, putting the lives of the serious patients admitted there in danger. He described this incident as extremely sad and unfortunate. The JDU spokesperson further said that the district administration has constituted a five-member committee to investigate the matter and has been instructed to submit the report soon.
He said that state Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has announced compensation for the families of the deceased. Also, instructions have been given to fix administrative responsibility and investigate whether the prescribed SOP was followed in the hospital or not. After investigation, strictest action will be ensured against the culprits.
Neeraj Kumar also reacted sharply to the recent statement of former West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee. He said that the chaos and arrogance of politics is going to the head of Mamata Banerjee. He said that Mamata Banerjee’s statement that those who want to stay in the party should stay and those who do not want to stay can leave, shows her arrogance. Neeraj Kumar claimed that this is why TMC mayors and MLAs are leaving the party. He sarcastically said that if the situation continues like this, then a day may come when the employees working in his office and even the people working at his home will start talking about leaving the party and office.
