Banaskantha, May 14 (IANS). The meeting of the Union Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of 14 crops for the Kharif season 2026-27. Due to this decision, there is an atmosphere of happiness among the farmers of the entire country including Banaskantha of Gujarat.
Farmers are seeing this decision as getting the right price for their hard work. He says that the increase in MSP will not only cover the expenses of farming but will also strengthen their economic condition. Especially small and marginal farmers are expected to benefit the most from this decision. Along with this, cultivation of pulses and oilseed crops will also be promoted.
Speaking to IANS, local farmer Jagdish Patel said, “We are going to benefit a lot from the increase in the MSP price by the government. When crops are sold in the market, they get lower prices, then at that time the government will buy the crops at the MSP price, which will benefit us. Now the farmers will get the fruits of their hard work.”
Farmer Jayeshbhai expressed his appreciation and said, “Ours is a country of farmers. The increase in MSP for farmers by PM Modi has been increased by one and a half times more than the production of farmers. The government has also taken care of the small and marginal farmers living in villages. PM Modi has taken full care of increasing the income of farmers through Crop Insurance Scheme, Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and other schemes. We farmers are very grateful to him.”
Kirti Bhai Mewada said, “The government has increased the price under MSP, it is very good for the farmers. The central government is doing very good work. Farmers are very happy with the government’s decision.”
Welcoming the increase, farmer Meghrajbhai Patel said, “The increase in MSP made by the Central Government is very beneficial for the farmers. We also demand that the government should purchase crops from the farmers in larger quantities.”
Farmers believe that this increase in MSP will make farming more profitable and attractive. Especially for those farmers who cultivate pulses and oilseeds, this decision will give them encouragement. This step of the government is another important initiative towards farmer friendly policies.
