Bratislava, June 13 (IANS). Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to Slovakia, the Indian community expressed its eagerness for growing opportunities and termed the visit as a positive sign.
Avinash Vijay Kumar, a member of the Indian community who has been living in Slovakia for about 18 years, told IANS: “This is kind of a privilege and a historic moment for us and we are very happy that PM Narendra Modi is taking out some time for us. A lot of our people are already working in the skill sector, especially in automobile and other sectors and this will increase in the future. This is a very good sign. This will create more opportunities for Indians.”
“Wherever we (Indians living in Slovakia) go, we have good visibility and we are thankful to our Prime Minister (Modi) because he did this. It is a proud moment for us,” Kumar said.
Another member based in India said, “We (Indians living in Slovakia) feel very proud of how much respect he (PM Modi) gets all over the world.”
Slovakian President Peter Pellegrini expressed his eagerness and said that PM Modi’s visit will open new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I look forward to welcoming you to Bratislava on Monday. Your historic visit will build on our good dialogue with New Delhi and open new opportunities for Slovakia-India cooperation,” President Peter Pellegrini wrote on social media platform X.
Before leaving for a foreign trip, PM Modi said that he will visit France at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron and Slovakia at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico from June 13 to 18.
In February this year, French President Macron visited India, where he participated in the AI Summit. He also met PM Modi and discussed deepening cooperation between the two countries.
