Rackjavik, 28 September (IANS). Members of the Indian community living in Iceland participated in the developed India run organized by the Indian Embassy in Racial on Sunday. India’s Ambassador to Iceland R.K. Ravindra addressed members of the Indian community and administered the oath of developed India.

In a statement released on X, the Indian Embassy in Iceland said, “The Indian Embassy, ​​Racjavik, organized the ‘Developed India Run’ on 28 September, to motivate the overseas Indians to contribute to creating self -reliant and developed India.”

Ambassador R. Ravindra addressed the diaspora and administered the oath of ‘developed India’. In his address, the ambassador said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2025 Independence Day speech had explained his view of India developed till 2047, and emphasized that India’s progress is based on self -reliance, innovation and empowering citizens.

After the run is over, R.K. Ravindra distributed certificates to participants. According to the embassy statement, about 50 overseas Indians and friends of India attended the ‘Developed India Run 2025’ in Rekjavik.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYAS) of India (MYAS) from 17 September to 2 October, as part of the service fortnight, is organizing ‘Developed India Run 2025’ at more than 150 places in 91 countries in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The Ministry of Youth and Sports said in a statement, “This unique global initiative is being done for the first time to inspire collective action for nation building.”

According to the statement, the objective of this run is to bring together Indians, local communities, students, professionals and friends of India together, so that they can repeat their commitment to the view of India developed by 2047.

‘Developed India Run’ with the tagline ‘Run to serve the nation’ is a 3-5 km community run at the famous and easily accessible places worldwide. The run will include the Independence Memorial of Mexico City, UNESCO World Heritage Site in Pararamaribo, Suriname, Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco and many other famous sites around the world.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports said in a statement, “Developed India Run 2025 is going to be one of the largest global outreach programs in India. It is not only a fitness and community activity, but also a global festival of Indian values ​​like service, stability and inclusion. It aims to strengthen relations between India and the diaspora, to inspire the youth for service-oriented activities.”
