Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday targeted the central government over the operational disruption in the country’s largest airline IndiGo and alleged that IndiGo’s crisis is the result of this government’s ‘monopoly model’.
Hundreds of domestic and international flights of IndiGo have been canceled while thousands of passengers faced a lot of trouble due to late departure of many flights.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi posted on ‘X’, “IndiGo’s crisis is the result of this government’s ‘monopoly model’.” Once again, common Indians have had to pay the price in the form of delays, cancellation of flights and helplessness.He claimed that India deserves fair competition in every field and not a ‘monopoly of match fixing’.
IndiGo has been facing an acute shortage of crew in recent times. In fact, the airline has been facing a shortage in the number of crew since the implementation of the new FDTL rules that limit flight duty.
Under the new rules, weekly rest time for pilots has been increased and the number of night landings has been limited to strengthen flight safety.
