Kolkata, June 28 (IANS). The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) on Sunday removed Radharaman Das from all posts in the religious organisation. ISKCON gave this information by issuing a media statement.
ISKCON’s media statement read, “We wish to inform well-wishers, devotees, all members of the media and the general public that Radharaman Das has been sent on compulsory leave to ISKCON. Additionally, he has been directed not to represent or speak on behalf of ISKCON in the media, government officials or in any public forum.”
It was further explained, “Like any organization, and especially one like ISKCON, which is serving in 100 countries around the world in different cultural, linguistic and social conditions, there are certain rules, standards, obligations and ethical principles for its members. When a member does not follow his obligations, corrective steps are taken.”
It added, “After repeated requests to him over many years, ISKCON has taken corrective action and placed him on leave. This action was taken because he did not follow ISKCON’s procedures, acted unilaterally, going against the official position of the organization, and went beyond his jurisdiction and interfered in such matters, which put the safety and well-being of members in different parts of the world at risk. During this time, we have encouraged him to introspect and improve the way he works.”
Das, who was earlier the Vice-President of ISKCON Kolkata, himself had informed about this decision in a post on the social media platform ‘X’.
He also said that ISKCON asked him not to represent the organization in the media nor speak on its behalf.

He also said that this action was taken due to several matters.
According to the information given to him, Das was removed because he spoke publicly about the atrocities against Hindus and devotees in Bangladesh and gave interviews to the media. Also, he supported and spoke about ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu, who is lodged in Dhaka jail.
