Delhi, December 13 (IANS). Congress MP Tariq Anwar has termed the statement of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat as wrong. The Sangh chief said in a program on Friday that in our country there should be devotion towards one’s own nation, there should not be a feeling of ‘tere tukde ho’ in the country. On this the Congress MP said that there is no such sentiment in our country.

Congress MP Tariq Anwar told IANS, “Those who make such false allegations should know that nothing like this has happened here. Every citizen of the country loves his country. If someone comes from outside with the intention of spreading terror or disturbing peace, then action should be taken against him.”

Tariq Anwar further said, “In my opinion, it is completely wrong to make such allegations against our own citizens. The incident that happened in JNU recently was a premeditated plan.”

Regarding the ban on the film ‘Dhurandhar’ in many Gulf countries, the Congress MP said, “I have not seen this film myself, but if many countries have banned it, then it should be seen whether it has any objectionable content due to which Pakistan and other countries have taken cognizance of it.”

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had on Friday given a statement about the sentiment of ‘tere tukde ho’ (let you be torn to pieces) at the unveiling of Savarkar’s statue at Sri Vijayapuram in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Mohan Bhagwat said that there should be no place in India for such ideas which divide the country. Savarkar never associated himself with any caste or region, but saw himself only as a servant of the country.

He said, “While previous generations of Indians had to sacrifice their lives for the country’s freedom, today’s generation must live for the country’s progress.” He stressed the importance of self-reliance and Swadeshi and appealed to the parents to train their children hard and steer them on the path of success.
