Jammu, April 7 (IANS). Jitendra Singh, Lok Sabha member from Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur constituency and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, on Monday announced several developmental achievements for Udhampur, including starting of ATR airline in the next six months and a full-fledged airport thereafter.
Jitendra Singh gave information about the decisions taken in the Udhampur ‘Disha’ meeting on social media platform X. He wrote that as an achievement in the aviation sector, the process of transfer of land for a full-fledged civil airport has started. Meanwhile, tenders have been issued for interim block construction at the existing premises to start ATR flights within the next six months.
Along with this, the Army Command Hospital will provide regular super-speciality services to the civilians, thereby significantly improving access to advanced medical care in the district. Empowering the local economy through food entrepreneurship: An ambitious project has been launched for the traditional milk product ‘Kalaadi’, which will be developed by the ‘Food Technology and Research Institute’ based in Mysuru, Karnataka. This will see Kaladi’s delicious recipes with extended shelf-life being developed and served through leading food channels in India and abroad.
With this, lavender cultivation, which started from Bhaderwah, has now reached the upper areas of Latti. Upgradation of Dhar Road has been started. The express road corridor from Delhi to Katra is in the final stage. From the MP funds, an ambulance was provided to the Government Medical College, Udhampur.
Let us tell you that Jitendra Singh is working as the 18th Minister of Science and Technology and 12th Minister of Earth Sciences from 2024. They are Prime Minister’s Office, Department of Workers, Public Grievances and Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy; And is also the Minister of State for the Department of Space.
He won the election to the 18th Lok Sabha from Udhampur with a majority of 1,24,373 votes. He has won this seat for the Bharatiya Janata Party by winning all three Lok Sabha elections contested from Udhampur consecutively. He remained victorious consecutively in 2014, 2019 and 2024.
