Jammu: Police arrested 4 accused in attempt to murder case, one absconding

Jammu, January 5 (IANS). Police Station City, Jammu has made a major breakthrough in a serious attempt to murder case. Based on concrete information received from reliable sources, the police took swift action and arrested four accused, while one accused is still absconding.

The victim Shampi (s/o Mushtaq Masih, resident of House No. 185, Christian Colony) was seriously injured in the incident, while Nahid (s/o Deepak, resident of Christian Colony) also sustained injuries. In this case, FIR has been registered at Police Station City under sections 115 (2), 109 (attempt to murder), 111, 191 (2) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and section 4/25 of the Arms Act.

During investigation, the police found that the accused, acting with common intention, carried out the deadly attack on the victims using illegal weapons. The team led by PSI Aaqib Latif, under the supervision of SHO Police Station City Inspector Shakti Devi, SDPO City North and SP City North, conducted raids at several locations and successfully arrested four accused.

The names of the arrested accused are Aftab alias Affu, Mohammad Rashid, Gill Christ and Dhruv Sharma. One accused Mohammad Danish is still absconding. Police are continuing efforts to nab him and are conducting raids at possible hideouts.

The police team is busy searching for illegal arms and ammunition used in the crime. If recovered, they will be confiscated as per legal process.

Expressing satisfaction over this success, Jammu Police has said that a policy of zero tolerance will be adopted to maintain law and order and against heinous crimes. The public has been assured that strict action will be taken against all those involved in violent crimes, no matter how old the criminals are.
