Jamnagar, May 10 (IANS). Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Gujarat, Jamnagar has been decked up with lights and decorations. Also, several programs have been organized in Jamnagar, Somnath and Vadodara on May 10 and 11.
Main roads, government buildings and intersections in Jamnagar have been decorated with decorative lights, extending from the Air Force Station to Lal Bangla Circle. Prominent places like Darbargarh, DKV College, Bedi Naku, Pawan Chakki, Annapurna Circle and Mahakali Circle have also been illuminated, creating a festive atmosphere in the entire city.
Documentary films showcasing the welfare schemes implemented under the leadership of the Prime Minister are also being shown at major intersections.
A public reception has been scheduled at Lal Bangla Circle on Sunday, May 10 at around 7.30 pm. Gujarati folk singer Kirtidan Gadhvi will present ‘Lok Dhayaro’ during the event, while cultural performances like ‘Hudo Raas’, ‘Sidi Dhamaal’ and ‘Maniyaro Raas’ have also been organized by folk groups of Saurashtra.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi’s Gujarat visit will include events in Jamnagar, Somnath and Vadodara.
On May 11, Prime Minister Modi will attend the ‘Somnath Amrit Mahotsav’, marking 75 years of the inauguration of the renovated Somnath temple. During the visit, he is scheduled to participate in the ‘Special Maha Puja’, ‘Kumbhabhishek’ and ‘flag hoisting’ ceremonies at the temple.
These programs are being organized at Somnath as part of the celebrations to commemorate the reconstruction of the temple after independence. This initiative is deeply associated with India’s first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
There will also be several special programs during this Somnath Yatra, including the Indian Air Force’s first-ever ‘Surya Kiran’ aerobatic air show over Somnath and a special ‘Kumbhabhishek’ ceremony performed with holy water brought from 11 pilgrimage sites across the country.
After this, on Monday, May 11, PM Modi will visit Vadodara, where he will inaugurate the ‘Sardardham Hostel Complex’ located near Waghodia intersection. Local officials and BJP workers are preparing for the gathering of a large number of people. A ‘road show’ is also expected to take place in the city during this visit.
