Bengaluru, April 7 (IANS). The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks about the alleged ‘killing of BJP and RSS workers’ in Assam. He said that for them (Congress) terrorists look like angels.
Commenting on this issue, opposition leader and senior BJP leader R. Ashok asked on Tuesday, “Mallikarjun Kharge should tell us who carried out the cooker bomb blast in Mangaluru. These people consider terrorists to be angels. Not a single word comes out of their mouth against the Maoists.”
Ashok said that they (Congress) only criticize BJP and RSS. Now poisonous snakes are being released in all the states. These snakes will have to be driven away from three more states. The public will decide who is the real snake. Even his (Mallikarjun Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge) son is instigating him to make such statements.
BJP MLA S. Muniraju has said that a complaint has been filed against Congress President Kharge for making objectionable remarks against BJP and RSS and has demanded his arrest.
He alleged that during the election speech in Assam on Monday, the Congress President said that if a poisonous snake is seen while offering Namaz, then the Namaz should be stopped and it should be killed. If BJP or RSS members come while offering Namaz, then the Namaz should be stopped and they should be killed…this is written in the Quran.
Muniraju strongly criticized Kharge’s statement, calling it inflammatory and inciting violence.
He warned that such comments could lead to communal unrest and said these amounted to supporting anti-national and fundamentalist elements.
He further informed that a delegation of Karnataka BJP met the Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) and lodged a complaint in this regard.
Muniraju said the state DGP has assured that the matter will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action will be taken.
