केरल यौन उत्पीड़न केस: विधायक राहुल ममकूटथिल को 14 दिनों के लिए रिमांड पर भेजा गया

Pathanamthitta, January 11 (IANS). Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkoothil, who was arrested after complaining of sexual harassment, has been sent on remand for 14 days. Rahul Mamkoothil has been shifted to Mavelikkara special sub-jail. A special team detained Rahul Mamkoothil from KPM Hotel in Palakkad city around 12:30 am on Sunday. The arrest has been made in a new case registered on the basis of a complaint received through email two days ago.

According to the information, the police reached the reception, asked for information, took the phones of the hotel employees and then entered the room and arrested them.

After this, Rahul was taken to Pathanamthitta Police Camp for questioning and then to Pathanamthitta General Hospital for medical examination.

Hearing the news of Rahul Mamkoothil being taken to the hospital, DYFI workers protested in the hospital premises. After this there was a minor clash between the two groups of workers and the police.

After this Rahul Mamkoothil was produced in the court and sent to custody. Meanwhile, the third complaint of harassment makes serious allegations including physical exploitation, financial exploitation and forced abortion.

According to the victim’s statement, Rahul raped her in the very first meeting and exploited her financially. The High Court had earlier stayed Rahul’s arrest in the sexual harassment case.

In the second case, the trial court had granted anticipatory bail. In this case too, like the first case, Rahul had asked the woman to have a child. Rahul had sexual relations with the woman saying that he wanted a child. He attacked the woman on her face and body, causing injuries.

The woman says that even after this meeting, Rahul asked her to meet him, but she did not go. The complainant says that she was contacted with the promise of marriage and was assured that if they had a child, the marriage would happen very soon. He was called to meet him personally at the hotel. He gave the name of the hotel to the woman and asked her to book the room.
