Thiruvananthapuram, February 21 (IANS). The final voter list of Kerala was published on Saturday after the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The total number of voters in this list is 2,69,53,644.
2.78 crore forms were distributed in the first phase of the SIR process across the state. The voter lists were finalized after detailed scrutiny, hearing and corrections in all 140 assembly constituencies.
According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, 9,06,211 names were removed from the voter list during the revision process. Of these, 53,229 names were removed after a statutory hearing, including names of persons who died during the census period, those who acquired foreign citizenship, voters who changed their place of residence, and cases where duplication of names was found.
During this period, 4,24,518 new voters were added to the final voter list.
Between 27 October 2025 and 30 January 2026, the Election Commission accepted 13,51,151 new applications (Form 6) for inclusion. Additionally, 1,59,111 applications (Form 6A) wishing to register as overseas voters were also approved.
During the revision period, 24,28,639 applications for inclusion or deletion were processed, while 3,93,333 applications for correction in existing entries were accepted. The Commission also issued 36,88,948 notices for hearing after the publication of the draft list.
According to the final figures, the voter list includes 1,38,27,319 women and 1,31,26,048 men. The number of transgender voters is 277, while this includes 2,23,558 non-resident (foreign) voters. The Election Commission has clarified that there is still an opportunity to register.
Names can be added till the last date of filing nominations for the upcoming assembly elections. Voters can verify their details through the online portal of the Election Commission using their voter ID number, name, relative’s name, date of birth or mobile number.
Booth level final voter list under SIR 2026 is also available on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer. After the final voter list is prepared, preparations are going to be intensified before the assembly elections, the results of which are expected to be declared soon.
