Bihar politics and Bhojpuri cinema often work in different groups, but this time a leader and an actor have come face to face on the issue of tourism in Bihar. Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav posted a post on social media, emphasizing the religious and cultural significance of Bihar. Former Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Tejashwi Yadav also expressed his support, saying, “I agree with Khesari Bhai … Jai Bihar, Jai Bihari.”

9 Shaktipeeth and employment opportunities
On the occasion of Navratri, Khesari Lal Yadav posted from his X (first Twitter) account. He wrote that there are a total of nine major Shaktipeeths in Bihar: Patna, Gaya, Munger, Sasaram, Saharsa, Chapra, Nawada and Nalanda. These are lively evidence of Bihar’s culture and faith, but Khesari expressed regret that very few people know about these sites. If Bihar propagates these places properly, then devotees and tourists from abroad and abroad will come here. This will not only promote religious pilgrimage, but will also give a lot of boost to employment and local economy.

He further wrote, “Just think; hotels, guides, transport, handicrafts, local cuisine and food options … All these can flourish in Bihar. Just we need to find them and think for Bihar. We have many opportunities; just need to recognize them and take them in the right direction.” Khesari also appealed to Biharis on Navratri, “Khesari also appealed to Biharis on Navratri. Show and promote tourism. We have to do everything soon, the better it will be for Bihar.

Tejashwi Yadav’s support
Reacting to Khesari’s post, Tejashwi Yadav also wrote a long post. He said, “I agree with Khesari Bhai. Bihar is not in any other state as historical, religious, spiritual, cultural, natural, famous and rich tourist places.” Tejashwi said that during his 17 -month tenure, he took the responsibility of the tourism department, which was considered unnecessary, as a challenge. During this time, efforts were made to brand and promote the tourist destinations of Bihar at the domestic and international level.

As a result, in 2023, more than 82.1 million domestic and foreign tourists visited Bihar. Tejashwi described it as a new milestone for Bihar tourism. He wrote, “Of course, a lot is yet to be done in the field of tourism, which we will all complete together. Jai Bihar, Jai Bihari!”

Tourism will increase Bihar’s confidence
Bihar has historically been the center of Buddhist, Jain and Hinduism. Places like Nalanda, Bodh Gaya and Vaishali are already famous globally for their religious importance. However, now the demand for promoting local religious places and Shaktipeeths is increasing, as is clear from the post of Khesari Lal Yadav. Experts say that if the religious and cultural sites of Bihar are systematically developed and propagated, then a large network of employment, trade and tourism can be prepared in Bihar, because there is something everywhere in the state that can attract tourists.
